Church Housing Foundation
The Church Housing Foundation (CHF) is chaired by Bishop Anne Hollinghurst and was set up to advance the Church’s mission to respond to the housing crisis and meet housing need among the poorest and most marginalised.
The CHF is committed to the vision and values of the ‘Coming Home’ report, which set out five core values, rooted in the Christian story, that define good housing: a good home is Safe, Stable, Sociable, Sustainable and Satisfying.
In the first couple of years after the Coming Home report was published, the CHF provided shared communications and organised events to promote the national housing initiative. This included a major conference in November 2022, which brought together over 130 people from across the Church and housing sector to report on progress to date and explore how the Church could partner with others to respond to the housing crisis.
Through initiatives like these, the CHF has built up an engaged audience across parishes and dioceses, as well as people in the housing sector who share these aims. It hosts a termly Church Housing online event and sends out occasional newsletters; if you would like to join our mailing list, click here.
The CHF is responsible for this website, which is a common platform for sharing case studies, encouragement, advice and guidance for Church housing projects and individuals who would like to be involved in making them happen.
